Legendary Indian Singer, Shri Manaa Dey (Prabodh Chandra Dey) , dies at 94





Prabodh Chandra Dey better known by his nickname Manna Dey died in Bangalore Hospital today at the age of 94.
He was in hospital for last few months and was on dialysis in September.
Earlier in June 2013, he was admitted to ICU in a Bengaluru Hospital after having chest infection whcih later became complicated.
Later in July doctors reported that his health was recovering and took him off ventilator.
This legend has sung many Indian launguages including Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Gujarati, Punjabi and Bhojpuri.

Dey was born to Purna Chandra (Father) and Mahamaya Dey(Mother) on May 1st, 1919. He recieved his early eduction in  Indu Babur Pathshala, thereafter he attended Scottish Church Collegiate School and Scottish Church College.
Later he graduated from Vidyasagar College.
